FLORENCE, Ariz. — American Civil Liberties Union is faulting the Pinal County Jail in Florence, Ariz. over jail conditions for immigrant detainees.

The Maricopa Monitor reports that the ACLU of Arizona sent a letter this week to federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Department of Homeland Security officials that threatened litigation, calling the conditions at the jail "unconstitutional."

Victoria Lopez, program director for the ACLU of Arizona, said the complaint about the conditions specifically applies to a separate wing of the facility that has 625 beds set aside for immigrants detained by ICE. The group says those detainees have no access to outdoor exercise, no face-to-face contact with loved ones, and an unsanitary environment,

Sheriff Paul Babeu said his jail is the best run adult detention center in Arizona.

The group says those detainees have no access to outdoor exercise(GOT YOUR EXERCISE WHEN YOU SLITHERED INTO USA , no face-to-face contact with loved ones(WRITE A LETTER ), and an unsanitary environment,(KINDA LIKE THE PIG PEN YOU LEFT ON OUR SIDE WITH DIRTY UNDERWEAR BACK PACKS TRASH DIAPERS FILTH HMMMMM sounds like KARMA to me

    By knowingly committing violations of Constitutionally required civil commitment standards, Babeu exposes himself again (No pun intended) as someone who only gives lip service to the rule of law. Anyone who claims illegal immigrants have no Constitutional protections in our Country is, like Babeu, a hypocrite, or ignorant of the law or both.

    laws of the land. Like many young Republicans, he fails to understand that our Constitution affords some rights to immigrants who are in the country, be it legally or illegally. These ill informed young republicans are the same people who like to lecture others on the meaning of illegal. Yikes! Take anything that they say with many grains of salt.
