TUCSON, Ariz. — The son of a southern Arizona police chief has been arrested on arson and fraud charges.

Cochise County Sheriff's officials say 18-year-old Evan Weaver was booked into jail on Friday.

Weaver is being held on suspicion of four counts of arson of property and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card.

The Arizona Daily Star says Weaver is accused of setting two fires last Sunday and two more on Thursday.

Willcox police are investigating the credit card charge.

Chief Jake Weaver declined comment on his son's arrest.
