Fulton Homes hosting water safety event at Sunsplash

Jul 13, 2012, 1:05 PM | Updated: 1:06 pm

Even if you don’t have any plans to be around the pool this rainy weekend, Fulton Homes will be reminding people on Sunday that two seconds is too long when it comes to leaving kids near water unsupervised.

“We’ve had a disappointing number of water-related incidents in the Valley this year,” said Tom Herrman with Fulton Homes. “The latest number I’ve seen is 105 so far this year, including 67 that involve children. This is an effort to remind all of us to pay attention around water with kids.”

The event is being held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mesa Golfland Sunsplash, located near the intersection of Country Club and US 60.

“We have folks from the American Red Cross who will join us out at Golfland Sunsplash in Mesa and we’ll have a chance to talk to folks about how to protect your kids around water and what to do if you have an incident where somebody falls in the pool and you need to take care of them,” said Herrman.
