Arizona parents have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a school for their kids.
“Arizona has about four times more options than a parent anywhere else in the country because the state is very friendly to school choice,” said Andrew Campanella on News/Talk 92.3 Mac & Gaydos, Monday, as part of the “Eyes on Education” series.
Big school budgets don’t always guarantee quality education for students though.
“A parent needs to look at how schools performing in terms of testing, what other parents are saying, what there own child is saying about a school and then look at all the options they have,” said Campanella, president of National School Choice Week.
According to Campanella, the best thing parents can do when choosing a school for their child is ask a ton of questions.
“Ask what the principal’s expectations of kids are. Ask about specific examples the principal can share of students turning around their life at that school. The more questions a parent asks, the better result they are going to get,” he said.
