after a head-on wrong-way accident that injured four people, including two
The Arizona Department of Transportation said southbound lanes reopened at
Thomas Road shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, over four hours after the Wednesday
The state Department of Public Safety said dispatchers got numerous 911 calls
about a wrong-way vehicle but the driver was able to get around a DPS
officer who tried to ram the vehicle to stop it.
According to DPS, the wrong-way vehicle then sideswiped another car with two
people in it before the wrong-way vehicle collided head-on with another car.
All three drivers and a passenger in the sideswiped car were injured.
