FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Motorists traveling on Interstate 40 in western Arizona
are being advised to expect delays due to paving and rock-removal projects
between Kingman and Flagstaff.
The state Department of Transportation said the freeway needs preventative
maintenance because of heavy traffic and weather conditions.
One project recently began on a 15-mile stretch of I-40 west of the junction
with U.S. 93, east of Kingman.
Also, crews in early August will begin rock work along the westbound lanes of
I-40 just west of Parks. That work will result in intermittent closures Monday
through Friday from a 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
