PHOENIX — There’s a lot of wiretapping going on in the western United States.
A report from a U.S. courts agency said that Nevada topped the country with most wiretaps, followed by Colorado, California and New York. Nevada averaged nearly 40 wiretaps for every half-million residents.
Arizona averages 9.5 phone-call monitorings. The numbers are based on 2013 results of criminal investigations.
In case you’re wondering which states had no wiretaps, the report listed Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Vermont.
