PHOENIX — Arizona Congressman Trent Franks welcomed an American “dynasty” to the Capitol Tuesday.
Jase, Missy and Mia Robertson, famous for starring on the A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty,” met with Franks to discuss the Mia Moo Fund, inspired by daughter Mia.
Mia was born with a cleft lip and palate, which required intensive surgeries as a young child. The Mia Moo Fund is a nonprofit “dedicated to raising awareness and funds towards research into the causes of and treatments for cleft lip and palate,” according to a press release.
The Mia Moo Fund is special to Franks, as he was born with a cleft lip and palate so severe, his parents were warned that he may not live for very long. He “eventually underwent nine operations, the first at just 2 weeks old.”
Thanks again to @JaseDuckman, @MissyDuckWife, and their precious daughter Mia for their new initiative. @MiaMooFund. pic.twitter.com/IUFxkJGNSB
