Patrol locates missing plane in Arizona

PAGE, Ariz. — The Civil Air Patrol says it has found what’s believed to be
the wreckage of a small plane last seen leaving a northeastern Arizona airport.

KNXV-TV reports Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say
investigators are trying to confirm if wreckage found Sunday afternoon 35 miles
east of Page is an aircraft missing since Friday.

Authorities say a father and son from Southern California who were traveling to
South Carolina left a Page airport without a flight plan. Family members
reported the plane missing Saturday.

Coconino County Sheriff’s spokesman Aaron Dick says two bodies were found
inside the wreckage.

Patrol pilots from Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico have been helping
with the search.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
