No one hurt as plane lands without gear at Scottsdale airport

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Firefighters said no one was injured when a small
airplane was forced to land at a Scottsdale airport with a faulty gear.

The Scottsdale Fire Department said a pilot aboard the single-engine Cessna
observed a light come on Friday morning that indicated trouble with the landing
gear.

Fire spokesman Jay Ducote said the plane was able to make a successful belly
landing despite the gear being partially extended.

Ducote said only one other passenger was on the aircraft.

The plane was being removed from the runway by crane.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
