Finalists for the awards given out by the nonprofit Arizona Community Foundation will be announced April 30. Winners could get as much as $10,000 apiece per academic year.
The need-based scholarships provide four years of financial support at one of Arizona’s three public universities for students who are the first in their family to attend college. The Valley is represented by 34 students.
The scholarships were founded in 1999.
