SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A new passenger study said Spirit Airlines generated the
most complaints and Southwest the least.
The study by the grassroots organization US PIRG Education
Fund said low-cost carrier Spirit registered three times more complaints per
passenger than any other airline. Other carriers drawing a lot of complaints were Frontier, United and American. The report, “The Unfriendly Skies: Five Years of Airline Passenger Complaints to the DOT” was released Thursday.
Other airlines generating the fewest complaints were Alaska, AirTran
and JetBlue. Flight problems such as delays and cancellations were the top
