I hope this video makes you “Happy.”
Sorry. That was really bad.
Anyway, according to Yahoo, this cover of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” was filmed at the Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences. The 40-strong choir consists of both elementary and middle school students.
And, of course, the video went viral.
“We were familiar with the song, but had never worked on it before,” choir director Angela Kee tells the Good News Blog. “I am extremely excited because we did not expect this attention at all.”
DAAS is a charter school where 98 percent of students are on free or reduced-cost lunch. It’s also no stranger to covering songs. Check out their YouTube channel when you have a second or if you need some more feels.
