TUCSON, Ariz. — State consumer-protection officials report they found
numerous problems with scales used by some vendors at the Tucson Gem and Mineral
Show held in mid-February.
The Weights and Measures Department said most vendors at the show sold their
goods by the piece and did not require use of scales to ensure the customers got
what they paid for.

settings to the detriment of either the customer or the vendor.
