PHOENIX — Travelers hoping for a pre-flight drink will be temporarily out of luck at Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Terminal 2.
The airport said a contract it had with a food and beverage concessions operator expired and the company chose not to sign a new deal. As a result, the Ocotillo Sun, Phoenix All-Star Sports Bar and Round Table Pizza will close Thursday.
The city is accepting proposals to fill the three empty spaces and expects to have them filled sooner than June 15. It also said it is close to an interim deal that would permit the sale of alcohol until new tenants can move in.
The new vendors will be required to offer jobs to employees of the three restaurants that are closing and keep them on for at least 90 days.
