Big game, big bet: Super Bowl determines couple’s wedding

Jan 28, 2014, 5:17 PM

A lot of people place bets on the Super Bowl, but one Denver-area couple bet the location of their wedding on the big game.

According to the Denver Post, Victor Cordova and Courtney Harmer are set to be married Oct. 25, 2015, but the outcome of the big game will determine where the wedding is held.

It all started a few months ago. The pair were watching a game and Harmer offered the idea that, should the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, the wedding would be held in her hometown of Bellingham, Wash. but if the Broncos won, it would be held somewhere near Denver.

Both of them are confident their team will win.

Courtney is confident the wedding is coming to Bellingham.

“I think Russell Wilson has got it all, baby,” she said. “(Victor) dismisses how Russell Wilson can defeat the Denver defense.”

Victor has no doubt the wedding will be in the Denver-area.

“We have a lot of offensive weapons,” he said. “And I think our defense rises to the level of the quarterback. The defense really came on in the playoffs.”

While we won’t know the outcome of the game until Sunday evening, we can only offer one piece of advice to Victor: “Happy wife, happy life.”
