Woman pleads guilty in fatal Arizona bus stop crash

PHOENIX — A woman accused of running a red light and causing a fatal crash
at a Phoenix bus stop last year has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and
aggravated assault.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 23-year-old Elsa Olivares entered her plea
Tuesday. Her sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 14.

Phoenix police say Olivares ran off after the May 13 accident but she later
turned herself in to authorities.

Police say Olivares admitted to being under the influence of drugs and alcohol
at the time of the crash.

She was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, aggravated
assault, endangerment and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

Olivares originally pleaded not guilty in the case.

Police say a 50-year-old man was killed in the accident and another person was
injured.
