PHOENIX — A Gilbert man accused of fatally shooting his estranged father
two years ago has been convicted of second-degree murder.
Maricopa County authorities say 25-year-old Tyler McQuade was found guilty in
the case Tuesday.
His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.
McQuade was arrested in January 2012 and originally charged with first-degree
murder in the shooting at his father’s home in Tonopah.
County Sheriff’s officials say Sean McQuade was fatally shot in the face and
his body was found on Jan. 23, 2012.

They say Tyler McQuade told them that he hadn’t seen or spoken to his father
since November 2011.
