Our first unsolved case takes us to the Walmart on 75th Avenue north of McDowell.
“This crime occurred on Oct. 12, 2013 at about 4 o’clock in the afternoon,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch.
A woman loaded her cart with hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise then paid with a debit card. The card, however, was fake. It was embedded with the stolen debit card information of a California man who still had his real card in his wallet.
“This is a crime that went unnoticed until he received a bill with information from Phoenix and he lived in another state,” Burch said. “Another good reason to always check your statements.”
