PRESCOTT, Ariz. — A northern Arizona plant that has manufactured
components for the aerospace industry since the late 1940s will close early next
The Daily Courier reported Thursday that the PCC
Aerostructures plant in Prescott is expected to close Feb. 3.
Officials with Portland, Ore.-based Precision Castparts declined comment on the
reason for the shutdown.
The former Fortner Aerospace plant in Prescott was bought last year by
Precision Castparts, which makes airfoil castings for aircraft engines and
industrial gas turbines.
The Courier reported 80 jobs will be eliminated by the plant’s closure.
PCC Aerostructures employees split into three groups Wednesday to meet with
representatives of Yavapai Workforce Connection of the Northern Arizona Council
of Governments to learn about opportunities for displaced workers.
