Tempe middle school locked down after gun report

PHOENIX — Two boys were arrested Friday after one brought a toy gun to school and caused a three-hour long lockdown.
Two girls told school officials around 8 a.m. that a boy had shown them a gun in his backpack. Fees College Preparatory Middle School, near McClintock and Guadalupe, was placed on lockdown and police were called.
During a search of the school, police learned that the student had given the gun to another student. Both were arrested on a charge of disrupting an educational facility, a felony.
Police said no threats had been made. The lockdown was lifted by 11:30 a.m.
