Sedona man gets prison term in sex abuse case

PRESCOTT, Ariz. — A Sedona man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in
connection with a sexual abuse case.

Yavapai County prosecutors say 53-year-old Kirk Harris also must register as a
sex offender and will be on lifetime probation after serving his prison term.

They say Harris pleaded guilty to attempted sexual abuse of a minor, attempted
sexual conduct with a minor and furnishing harmful items to a minor.

Sheriff’s officials say the victim contacted them in February 2012 about
allegedly being sexually abused by Harris in Phoenix and the Camp Verde area.

The allegations were investigated by a sheriff’s detective and Harris was
arrested at his Sedona home.

The gender of the victim wasn’t immediately released by authorities Tuesday.
