TEMPE, Ariz. — There are diehard Arizona State University fans and then there are fans who take it up a notch.
Some ASU students spent overnight outside of the stadium to get front-row student-section tickets to Saturday’s game against No. 20 Wisconsin. Megan Colvin was surrounded by sleeping bags, coolers and friends on Friday morning.
She was running on about three hours of sleep and didn’t plan on going anywhere for a while.
“We don’t get our wristbands until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, she said.” Seating in the student section is first come, first served. The season-opener against Sacramento State on Sept. 5 drew record single-game sales for student tickets with 13,472.
Colvin said the lack of sleep will be worth it to see her Sun Devils beat the Badgers.
“The first 180 students get … passes for the game and get in earlier. If you get those, you basically get the first couple of rows.”
