Two Texas teenagers reportedly rescued a woman who was being kidnapped and mouthed “help me” to passing motorists.
According to ABC News, the 25-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped by Charles Atkins Lewis in downtown Dallas. He was driving through Kaufman County when the woman caught the attention of two teenagers by mouthing “help me.”
“Yes, I’m on the highway. I’m witnessing a robbery. Not a robbery, a kidnapping,” Aaron Arias, 19, told a 911 dispatcher. “It’s me and another guy. So we’re checking out the girl in the backseat because we’re like, ‘OK, she’s kind of attractive’, and then all of a sudden the guy is turned back, looking at us.
“We looked in the backseat and the blond female in the back was saying, ‘Help me,’ or something, whispering it. So I’m assuming it is a kidnapping.”
Within minutes, officer pulled the car over and arrested Lewis. He was charged with aggravated kidnapping and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
The victim was examined and released.
