Ducey files paperwork to explore Arizona governor run

PHOENIX — State Treasurer Doug Ducey has filed paperwork to explore a run
for governor.

The former CEO of Cold Stone Creamery filed the paperwork Tuesday and casts
himself as a business-savvy political outsider.

Ducey says his time as treasurer has prepared him to help Arizonans with issues
such as reforming and improving the state’s economy, tax code and schools.

Other Republicans who have filed paperwork to run for governor include former
Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman, state Sen. Al Melvin and ex-Maricopa County Attorney
Andrew Thomas.

Democrat and former Arizona Board of Regents Chairman Fred DuVal and Americans
Elect party candidate John Mealer also have already formally filed to run.
