From one extreme to the other. These robbery cases couldn’t be more different.

Our first is a bank robbery in Chandler.

“This is a very, very calm bank robber,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch. “He’s hit twice in as many days, on October 3, 2012 and October 4, 2012.”

He robbed the Compass Bank inside an Albertsons then a U.S. Bank inside a Safeway.

He does a really good job of not attracting any attention to himself. He dresses in casual clothes, a baseball cap and prescription glasses.

“If you didn’t know what was going on, you’d have no idea that bank had just been robbed,” said Burch.

Our next robbery couldn’t be more different.

“It’s the extreme other end of the scale,” said Burch. “This occurred on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Pawn Central store at 39th Avenue and Indian School. It was at 9 a.m. and the place had just opened up.”

Two suspects burst into the business.

“They’re yelling and screaming. This is a very violent situation. Very in-your-face as opposed to the other one,” said Burch.

They immediately jumped the counters. One of the suspects had a gun in each hand.

There are surveillance pictures, but you won’t see much because they are dressed all in black including face masks and gloves.

The suspects were dropped off at the pawn shop in a maroon, newer four-door compact car. They fled in a tan Cadillac that was parked two buildings away. As planned-out as this was, investigators are pretty sure these guys have done this before.
