Sheriff Arpaio puts sling on eBay for animal charity

PHOENIX — Arm-twisting was unnecessary. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has put the sling he wore while recovering from shoulder surgery on sale at eBay to benefit a charity.

Arpaio, 81, took a fall in February and broke a shoulder. He was hospitalized for a few days because of it.

Proceeds of the sling sale will go toward the sheriff’s office animal safe house. Bidding had reached $2,200 by early Friday morning. The sale ends in four days.
