PHOENIX — Popular former Arizona Diamondbacks player and announcer Mark Grace has been released from jail, after serving four months on a DUI conviction.
Grace served his sentence in Tent City after getting his second DUI last August.
Last month Grace told reporters he’d learned his lesson.
“If I’m that stinking stupid to do it again, I want you to come punch me right in the mouth,” he said.
Grace could have faced three years.
Although he was fired from the announcing booth, Grace remains with the organization. The owner of 2,445 career hits and a .303 batting average will serve as a hitting instructor in the minor league system.
