PHOENIX — A Twitter bomb threat hoax around the time of the Jodi Arias verdict caused panic among law enforcement agencies including the FBI and the police and sheriff’s department.
Court papers show the suspect made a series of threats about bombs being placed in the courtroom where Arias stood trial for murder. Authorities say the tweets “sent a wave of panic” through the various law enforcement agencies before 18-year-old Laquint Cherry was arrested at a motel and no bombs were found.
Cherry barricaded himself at the hotel and made references to the CIA and hacking group before being taken into custody. It’s not known if he has a lawyer. He’s facing a felony charge for making threats.
