CROWN KING, Ariz. — A historic mining town that has been scarred by a
wildfire is holding a music festival Saturday to raise money for road repairs.
The Gladiator fire charred more than 16,000 acres near Crown King last summer,
forcing evacuations. A series of monsoon storms followed, wiping away up to a
foot of dirt from the road through town.
Taryn Denyce of the Crown King Chamber of Commerce estimated that it will cost
around $10,000 to rebuild.
