PHOENIX — A judge has agreed to postpone a scheduled hearing to determine
convicted serial killer Dale Hausner’s competency to waive further appeals so he
can be executed as soon as possible.
Judge Roland Steinle granted a motion filed on behalf of Hausner, who was
convicted of six murders and numerous other crimes in a series of random
shootings in the Phoenix area in 2005 and 2006.
The two-hearing was scheduled in Maricopa County Superior Court for April 24-25
but now is scheduled for July 10-11.
Steinle approved the postponement just days after he denied several others that
would have scuttled the hearing.
