A big freeway project that will connect Loop 303 to Interstate 10 is more than halfway done as of Wednesday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation showed off one of the elevated ramps that will link the two freeways in fall 2014.
“This is big for the West Valley because loop 303 is operated as a two lane highway and we’re turning it into a modern six-lane freeway,” said department spokesman Doug Nintzel. “That’s going to be big for economic development purposes in that area. Goodyear is very excited about this interchange coming online.”
In addition, ADOT is building extra lanes westbound I-10 so construction doesn’t interfere with traffic.
The project costs $134 million.
