Arpaio offers change to proposed MCSO budget

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is offering to change the budget proposed by his agency, he said in a release.
The original budget contained a wish list that exceeded the department’s budget by $274 million.
One of the items that was to be funded was a new jail at a cost up to $180 million, but Arpaio has a different idea.
“I’ll just put up more tents,” he said in the release.
Arpaio also said he wants raises for his deputies before additional projects get underway.
