Swimmer proposed to before championship meet

Valentine’s Day often brings out the romance in guys, but few have ever executed a proposal quite like the one that took place Saturday at the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center in downtown Charlotte.
While getting ready for her final collegiate swim meet, senior Haley Carter of Pfeiffer University got an unexpected visit from her boyfriend in the middle of the pool.
But her boyfriend, who went to Westwood High School in Mesa, came to the meet with more than just flowers.
