PHOENIX — A Valley attorney said the sexually explicit details of the nationally-tracked Jodi Arias trial will not damage Arizona’s overall reputation.
“I don’t think this trial is necessarily more or less negative than the lady who drives her car full of small children into a lake or someone who shoots up a school,” said Adrian Fontes, adding that peope don’t attribute the behavior of an individual to an entire state.
Arias will take the stand again Wednesday for her sixth day of testimony. She has been charged in the 2008 stabbing and shooting death of her lover, Travis Alexander, in Arizona.
Arias faces the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder in the killing.
