FBI seeks man believed tied to attempted robbery

PHOENIX — Authorities are looking for a man believed to be tied to an
attempted robbery of a Phoenix bank in which a bank employee had a device put on
her neck that looked like a bomb but turned out not to be an explosive.

FBI spokesman Manuel Johnson says the man is a “person of interest” in
Saturday’s attempted robbery at a Bank of America branch, but he declined to
explain the man’s connection to the crime.

The employee was taken hostage at her home Friday night and brought to the bank
the next morning by a suspect.

The suspect waited outside while the employee went inside, but eventually drove
away.

The bank is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to
convictions.

No arrests have been made.
