More than a year ago, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg took aim at Arizona’s gun laws and went so far as to hire private investigators to run a sting at an Arizona gun shows.
Following Friday morning’s shootings in New York City, Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Bloomberg should focus on his own backyard instead of Arizona.
“What right does he have to tell Arizona what to do,” questioned Arpaio. “That’s my response to him. Evidently, he’s on a crusade to ban many items, not just guns.”
In a recent CNN interview, Bloomberg recommended all police officers go on strike until the nation’s gun laws are changed.
“I think he included the New York police, so you’re telling the police department to go on strike until something is done,” mocked Arpaio.
Arpaio suggested that Bloomberg run for president if he wants the gun laws changed.
