CDC: About 25 percent of Arizona is obese

About one-quarter of Arizona’s population is obese, the Center for Disease Control said.

In the agency’s latest results release, 24,7 percent of Arizona adults described themselves as obese.

Arizona has increased in obesity rates over the years. In 2012, 24.3 percent of the state’s population were obese.

According to the data, Mississippi was the most obese state in the nation, with 34.9 percent of the population considering themselves drastically overweight.

Colorado was the least obese state, with only 20.7 percent of people saying they are obese.
