There is a good chance that the White House will be trading parties this November, according to Meghan McCain.
“I always thought Obama was just shocked when people don’t love him and he actually has to hit the road and accomplish something instead of just being a rock star, but he definitely looks defeated,” said Meghan McCain on News/Talk 92.3 KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos Show. “If I were him, I would be tormented at this. I mean, right now, a lot of polls are showing Romney ahead and it is a long time until November and anything can happen, but I’ve been telling people that I think that there’s a very high likelihood of Mitt Romney being our next president.”
McCain, fresh off her taping of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show may be backing Romney, but said that his biggest obstacle to the White House is his religion and personal life, which could throw off some voters who are not comfortable with the Mormon faith or lack of detail he has provided about they type of man he is.
“What I would tell him that he needs to do is a serious sit-down interview talking about his faith and his personal life,” said McCain.
The daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain also said that Romney needs to choose a good running mate as well, if he’s going to be successful come November.
As the job market seemingly gets worse, McCain said Romney can sit back and let Obama falter a bit, but there will be a time when people ask what he will do to change the situation.
“Mitt Romney will have to come out with his plans,” she said.
