Click Chick: Randy Newman satire dreams of a "white president"
Oscar-winning songwriter Randy Newman is out with a new political song. It's satirical and sarcastic - just like him. It's called "I'm Dreaming" and contains the refrain "I'm dreaming of a white president." Newman, who is white, is openly supporting President Barack Obama, according to the AP. He says he wants the public to find comedic relief in the song, but to also know he's serious about his thoughts that racism is well and alive in the world.
New on DVD: You can now get "Cabin in the Woods" on DVD. "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is also out, along with "Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap." So is "Hysteria" - a movie about the invention of that personal device you keep hidden in the drawer when company comes to visit. And probably your best bet is "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" starring Maggie Smith and a bunch of other really good English actors.
Lochte on the Lochte Impression: Seth MacFarlane was the host on SNL over the weekend and did his impression of Ryan Lochte during weekend update. Ryan Lochte was asked what he thought about it. He told Celebuzz it was harsh, but thought it was "cool" that MacFarlane did it. Watch the segment EW posted.
Everything Old Is New Again: OK "Finding Nemo" is back in theaters. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is playing this week. Heck, you'll even be able to see "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" one night only on the big screen on Oct. 3. But now you'll be able to see John Carpenter's "Halloween" - the original "Halloween" with scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis - on the big screen on Oct. 25.
Jon Stewart vs. Bill O'Reilly: The pair will go head-to-head in a 90 minute debate from George Washington University. "The event dubbed The Rumble In The Air-Conditioned Auditorium will be livestreamed for a fee, with half of the proceeds going to charity," according to Deadline. That takes place on Oct. 6.
What Happened to Shaun White?: He seemed like a such a good guy. But the two-time Olympic gold medalist had a bit of an issue at a Nashville hotel. He's facing charges public intoxication and vandalism after being accused of several things like: kicking a man and running away, pulling a fire alarm thereby forcing the hotel to to evacuate all its guests and destroying a phone. App of the Day: Having been a bridesmaid seven times, I know this would have come in handy. The folks over at Netted by the Webbys suggest WedPics. They say the iPhone and Android app "robotically stockpiles every photo taken at your wedding" and gets "uploaded to your personal online album."
