Click Chick: New Frankenweinie, Oz trailers debut at Comic Con
Yes, I should be at Comic Con. That's a mecca of any geek
girl. But I have my sources there and I got my hands on
the
new Frankenweenie "Homage" trailer. Why is a called that?
Well, it's Tim Burton's clever nod to classic horror film
trailers.
My sources also sent me the trailer to upcoming "Oz the
Great and Powerful." It is a reimagining of the
origins of
"The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum classic. "Oz the Great
and Powerful" stars James Franco, Michelle Williams,
Evanora and Rachel Weisz who play witches. It'll be easy
to figure out which witch Glinda is. It's directed by Sam
Raimi - and I must say the trailer alone is a visual
delight...
Opening this weekend: "Ice Age: Continental Drift"
which is the fourth film in the Ice Age franchise.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, critics
haven't been exactly kind. The Phoenix Film Critics
Society pick of the week is "Beasts of the Southern
Wild." It's the tale of Hushpuppy (Quvenzhane Wallis), a
little girl who is being taught to survive by her dying
father (Dwight Henry) in a federally-condemned area of the
hurricane-ravaged southern Delta. It is lyrical,
emotional and rises on the strength of performances of the
father-daughter duo. If you like affecting art
films, this is definitely one you should check out. So
far, I think its going to make my Top 10 list at the end
of the year.

Tech Update: Do you have a Yahoo! email account. You might
want to change your password. Hackers have cracked the
accounts of some 450K users, says PC Magazine. And FYI, the most common
password is password. Now really, folks. Time to get a
little more creative...
And by the way, Harrison Ford turned 70 today. Yes, Indiana Jones is 70 years old.
