Click Chick: What to see & avoid at the box office
Everyone is talking about Rock of Ages starring Tom
Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julianne
Hough. But the Phoenix Film Critics Society selected
Safety Not Guaranteed as its pick of the
week. It beat out Rock of Ages to earn an 8.5 out of 10.
And get this, it's a sci-fi romance. When do you ever get
those two together in movie?
"Avoid it at all costs," is what David
Ramsey, the president of the Phoenix Film Critics Society,
told me about the new Adam Sandler movie, That's
My Boy. I missed it. He didn't and his review:
"Avoid it at all costs. It's incredibly raunchy." And he
says it violates the premise of a comedy "by not being
funny." He says it's as bad as Jack & Jill. I,
sadly, saw
that one and I keep waiting for Sandler to make another
movie like Punch Drunk Love. Doesn't look like it's
going to happen.
Today's Cute Animal Video is another
"Call Me Maybe" parody. This time, it's a corgi,
specifically Corgi Rae
singing in this pet parody.
Shepard Smith is more interested in True Blood than
the news. At least, on this day he was. The Fox
News host was conducting an interview about Lance
Armstrong and doping allegations. But apparently, the HBO
show was on his mind more than the interview. Here, his
guest is talking about a hearing panel that will
handle Armstrong's case, before Smith takes a left turn.
Watch here.
