Returning from war is a massive challenge for veterans, but things only get worse if they fall into substance abuse.
The addiction they develop can contribute to both homelessness and suicide, but one Valley group wants to help veterans break the cycle.
The Open Hands Outreach Program was founded in 2012 to help veterans with addiction, but has since expanded to the elderly, poor and disabled. The group offers counseling, social groups and regular food and hygiene supplies.
The charity is raising funds to purchase a property. Donations are accepted accepted online.
