Dad-free play center introduced in England

A play center that only allows mothers and children through its doors has some in the English city of Birmingham a bit peeved.
The play center claims the policy is due to its "Asian" neighborhood, but the city also has a large Muslim population.
"In the Muslim community men and women being separate is normal at religious events and social functions. But a play centre isn't a religious or function thing, "dad-of-three Tariq Mahmood told the Birmingham Mail. Habib Rehman, a Muslim dad-of-four, agrees. "This is a worrying situation - there's something wrong here when a dad can't take his kids to a play centre," he told the paper.
The play center also does not allow children over the age of nine.
Do you think this is a good policy in any way or is it just discriminatory across the board?
